SCHEDULE
Howrey Bootcamp kicks off with welcoming remarks, and invaluable insights on trial strategy from some of the best trial lawyers in the nation. (And by the end of the program, you'll be applying the same courtroom strategies and techniques.) In the beginning, you'll attend a variety of seminars and demonstrations on all aspects of litigation, including discovery motions, privilege, depositions, and opening statements. You'll also receive a primer on
antitrust and intellectual property law designed to assist you as you prepare for the various exercises, as well as for trial. Most importantly, you'll argue a discovery motion, prepare a response to a discovery request, participate in a markman hearing, and (best of all) prepare, conduct and defend depositions. And rest assured you and your team will be given ample time and training for adequate preparation.
Trial. In the days before trial, you'll attend presentations and demonstrations on direct examination, closing arguments, and cross-examination. During the trial, you'll present portions of an opening statement and closing argument, and conduct a direct examination and cross-examination before a judge.
Below is a blow-by-blow account of the clinic, including lectures and demonstrations, trial activities, critiques, and social events and outings from our 2010 program. Click on presenters' names to learn about their practice.
